I left my email open the other day and unbeknownst to me, Kent went into it and replied to an email from his mom about a kitchen set that she is getting Casey for Christmas. This is what he wrote:
Hi Maria,
I am a little concerned that what you got Casey is not enough. I was wondering if you could add another little something on to his present as I want to make sure he knows you care.
This whole mother thing leaves me a little tired sometimes.
Thank you
Micaela
Yes. You read that right. HELLO EMBARRASSING! Luckily we have a great relationship (and she fully know Kent’s antics) so her first instinct was that I didn’t write it. She called her husband upstairs and he confirmed that I would never write something like that. They know that I think no one loves our boy more than they do.
Still, the next evening I got home from work to a message for me to call her, in which she sounded a little wary. The next evening! Basically she had to go a full day wondering if her daughter in law is actually a nutcase. She told me that she was pretty sure it hadn’t been me but of course there was a little hint of uncertainty. We got a good laugh over it.
When I talked to Kent about it chastised Kent for it later (and oh boy did he still think he was hilarious) he explained to me that the “this mothering thing” line was added to make it seem more like me. WHAT? Sorry but I do not say things like that!
Ooh, Kent. You are crazy but I will admit that you’re funny. Sometimes.

Oh my gosh, this made me crack up! I’m kinda glad they didn’t think it was you at first… I would’ve DIED. hahahhaha.
Nancy, good to hear from you! I would have died if she had thought it was me for an entire day!
